Alphabet Soup
Special Needs E-Group

What in the world is the Alphabet Soup E-Group anyway? Alphabet Soupis a small group that meets in person to pray for our special needschildren with any disability or exceptionality, including but notlimited to Gifted and Talented, Learning Disabled, Mentally Retarded,Sensory Integration Disorder, Bipolar, and Autistic. The formatincludes weekly prayer times with one night a month devoted toinformation, special guest speakers and ministry times. The firstsemester group proved to be a wonderful place to connect with otherMoms who understood each other and felt compassion for each other.

This semester we do not have a prayer leader for our group, so weare going to continue to share information via our website. We stillwant to connect and know that this information will encourage you andgive you tools you need. Each month you can look at the newsletter andsee who Lisa has interviewed. It should prove to be an amazing learningexperience.

Lisa Forbus will be our point person for the E-group. She will beavailable to answer your questions, or just help you find the resourcesyou need, but on a limited time schedule. Please contact the HCHE phoneline and leave a message: Lisa will call you back at her convenience.

Scroll down to download prayers and scriptures to encourage you and give you hope as you wait for your child to bloom into all God has made him to be. Pray these scriptures inserting your own child’s name. You are speaking the very words of the maker of our universe over your child: What could be better? After all, there can be a lot of anxiety that goes along with raising a special needs child. And did I mention the grieving about the rejection and loss of a dream. We all have felt it: we wonder how things will turn out, but God knows the end from the beginning. Frankly, we just need each other. We hope you will join us on the HCHE website each month and learn along with us.

Blessings and Happy Homeschooling.
