WHAT IS SUMMER TO YOU?

Summer is here, and that means its time to break out the flip-flops, sunscreen, and charcoal. As people make their way to the beaches or the moutains, as they gather for summer BBQ’s, and sit out by the pool it can be easy to allow the relaxed atmosphere of summertime to carry over into your walk with the Lord. Packed calendars, summer weddings, family reunions, and squeezing in some sort of vacation can leave you needing a vacation from your vacation. So here are a few ways to help you keep God on your mind while you are on your way here and there to your summertime destinations. If you’re heading to the zoo, think about Noah and the ark and the diversity of Gods creation (Genesis 7:1-5). Heading to the beach, talk about the difference between building your house on shifting sand verses solid rock (Matthew 7:24-27). Spending some time near a lake or on a boat, consider how Jesus calmed the storm (Luke 8:22-25). Cooking out at a BBQ, as you enjoy the sweet smell of coming from the grill consider how we are the fragrance of Christ (2 Corinthians 2:15). There are many opportunities to bring God into your daily summer activities, so be creative and enjoy your summer more as you consider how God can be seen everywhere you go. ~Mike Lutz (The Forty Podcast)

2024 Testing and Evaluation Information

HCCA requires that students take an achievement test or evaluation at the end of 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th grades. Parents may use the test of their choice and submit the scores to the Academy. High school students – the PSAT, ACT, SAT, CLT, or ACCUPLACER scores are accepted in lieu of achievement testing. Find more testing information HERE

EVALUATIONS IN LIEU OF TESTING HCCA accepts evaluations in lieu of testing, as long as the evaluation is done by a certified evaluator. Check out our updated list of certified evaluators HERE

Regardless of which option you choose, the results need to uploaded in your family portal using the “Upload Current Test” button. Please upload the forms before July 5.

Important to know

QUARTERLY REPORTS HCCA’s fourth quarter ends June 30th. You have until July 5th to input your student’s fourth quarter information, after this date a late fee will be charged to your account. The HCCA database will be closed for the 2023/2024 school year after July 5th. The information you put in the quarterly report section is very important. Your quarterly reports are evidence that your student is progressing through the curriculum and through the school year. This is why HCCA requires a detailed report each quarter. We hold our families and ourselves to a higher level of accountability. It is important that parents input all required information each quarter. Please read our updated Quarterly Reporting Instructions.
